Dr. Andrés M. Álvarez-Constantino

Andrés M. grew up in Galicia (Spain) and obtained his BSc (2019) and MSc (2021) from the University of Santiago de Compostela, where he worked in Rh-catalyzed C–H activation and DFT mechanistic studies under the supervision of Prof. Jesús A. Varela and Prof. Carlos Saá at CiQUS. After that, he joined the Fañanás-Mastral group in the same institution as a PhD student (February 2021, Xunta de Galicia predoctoral fellowship). His work primarily focused on three main research lines: on enantio- and diastereoselective allylboration of acetylene with chiral NHC-Cu catalysts, in the C-H functionalization of gaseous alkanes by HAT photocatalysis, and in computational mechanisms elucidation. Andres M. joined the Schoenebeck group as a postdoctoral researcher in April 2025.
