Zeshu was born and raised in Fujian, China. He obtained his Bachelor's degree (2016) and Ph.D. (2021) from Xiamen University, where he conducted research under the supervision of Prof. Longwu Ye, focusing on the green synthesis of N-heterocycles based on ynamides. In 2021, he joined the group of Prof. Varinder K. Aggarwal FRS at the University of Bristol as a postdoctoral researcher, working on the total synthesis of beraprost and boron chemistry. In April 2025, Zeshu joined the Schoenebeck group as a postdoctoral researcher.
